Biometric Gait and Posture Analysis

My expressive postures method investigates the structural and behavioral characteristics that are often used to recognize and identify the kinetic activities of individual body parts through the use of biometric gait and posture analysis.  The biometric hypothesis contends that individual postures exhibit the same basic kinesthetic  patterns of structure and behavior, day in and day out, without breaking their established patterns.  Most of these postural patterns are automatically played out throughout a lifetime of repetitive motions and common situational adaptations that are for the most part unconscious to the individual.  This unconscious kinetic activity is a working part of the postural recognition factors that make certain postures and certain individuals... a very good and 'identifiable' match for each other in light of 'their' shared... weightbearing and gravitational stresses.

Today's Debt Swap Talks Will Get Greece No Closer To A Resolution

1. There will probably be legal challenges to the deal negotiated,
2. A "voluntary" agreement that does not trigger a credit event will probably have worse consequences than one that does, 
3. Even with the debt swap, Greece is not much closer to being solvent.

Greece's creditors will have to voluntarily agree to exchange their sovereign debt holdings for bonds with different terms if the country wants to avoid provoking a credit event, which would likely result in the payout of sovereign credit default swap contracts (essentially, insurance investors buy on holdings of Greek bonds). If the rumors are true, then it would seem that the two parties are indeed close to such a deal.

Astronaut Cadet - June 11-15

(Rising 6^th-7^th)

The Astronaut Cadet program will use space travel and astronaut training to excite and educate students in the fields of math, science and technology. Students will learn what it takes to have the "right stuff" and will develop teamwork, self-confidence and communication as they strive to earn their astronaut wings.  Students will learn about Newton's Laws through the construction of rocket racers, explore chemical reactions as they create fizzy rockets, and learn to calculate altitudes as they build and launch Estes Model rockets.  Students will also explore the Space Shuttle and International Space Station, sample and evaluate space food, learn about living and working in space, and discover new information about our future efforts to explore the moon and Mars. 

 

LEGO Mindstorms I - June 11-15

(rising 7^th-9^th) 

Explore the world of robotics by designing and building a robot that solves real-life challenges.  Teams of students will explore and apply physical science and mathematics concepts to program LEGO Mindstorms robots to clean up parks, rescue pets from burning buildings and various other scenarios.  Student teams will showcase their robots at the end of the week by running them through these scenarios.
