I have been watching a lot of martial arts movies with Tony Jaa. I his movies always feature a lot of sick moves, but I was curious how much of it was real martial arts so I did a little research and this is what I discovered.
His real name is Panom Yeerum. He was born into a family of elephant herders in 1976. He is originally from northeastern province of Surin, Thailand.

He grew up watching martial arts films and after watching one in 2004 called born to fight he met the director who started to teach him martial arts and stunt work. At some point he went to university where he studied a variety of martial arts, from tae kwondo to judo. He also does 8 hours of gymnastics, Muay Thai, and other sports training a day.
His most known movie as of now is the protector.
